So, there was a chance! Wow!

I have been out of blogging for a few weeks attending to a family matter (which I will write more about later), but I had the opportunity to be around Kansas City during the time that the Chiefs made the playoffs and then were eliminated from the playoffs by the Colts.
First, the Chiefs made the playoffs, but it seems many in the media around old KC were not happy. I listened to sports radio in KC (WHB 81) and read the Kansas City Star and watched some local TV newscasts.
I thought Herm Edwards did a wonderful job in his first year as head coach of the Chiefs. They made the playoffs and that’s a great step for the first year.
Many in KC are not happy with Herm or the General Manager Carl Peterson. They need to get over it and realize how darn lucky they are to have a professional sports team in KC. There are many of us who would love to be able to see a Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium eight weeks a season and enjoy the tailgating and the fun the fans have during the game. I get to subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket to watch my Chiefs games.
The loss to the Colts was a tough one. Our once aggressive offense did not show up except for one series. Our defense did a fine job that day holding the Colts under their season average at home. Peyton Manning did not have a good game, but his team won anyway.
What should the Chiefs do for next season? I think the offensive line needs some help. I think Trent Green will come back stronger next year, but Damon Huard should be re-signed for insurance unless Brodie Croyle is ready to step up as number two or number one QB. Maybe a couple of young and fast receivers could help.My glass is half full looking at the Chiefs for next year. Kansas City folks should thank their lucky stars that they have a professional football team the caliber of the Chiefs playing a few miles from their homes.
