New York Giants 27 Kansas City Chiefs 17

Toast? The Kansas City Chiefs playoff hopes are probably toast with their loss to the New York Giants 27-17.

Sure, there are a lot of scenarios where they could make the playoffs, but with the loss to the New York Giants today, it does not appear they have what it takes this year to be in the top six from the AFC.

If San Diego loses against the Colts and Pittsburgh loses against the Vikings, then we are in the same spot before today’s game. Kansas City radio announcers are telling the fans not to give up because the Chargers and Steelers both have tough games on the road this Sunday. OK, I’ll put a question mark on toast.

Tackling: That was the sorriest defense I’ve seen in some time from the Chiefs. They missed tackles and Tiki Barber torched them for 220 yards on the ground (the most ever against the Chiefs in history). Defense Coach Gunther Cunningham should chew some ass this week. The Defense forgot the basics.

False Starts: This is the NFL and crowds are loud on the road. The offense never could get a rhythm going and the false starts killed them.

Fumble and trash talking: Someone should tell Sammie Parker to shut up and play ball and hang on to it when he catches it. He’s in his second year. He’s not an All-Pro by any stretch of the imagination.

Future: There are two home games left against San Diego and Cincinnati. Thank God they are at home as the Chiefs are 3-5 on the road.

Good stuff: Larry Johnson had 160 yards for his seventh straight 100+ yard game.

By the way, congratulations to the Carroll College Fighting Saints for winning their FOURTH STRAIGHT NAIA National Football Championship. Dynasty.

Merry Christmas to all!
