Ouch! Dallas Cowboys 31 Kansas City Chiefs 28

It has been said that you can’t turn the ball over on the road and win. Today’s game was a classic example. There was one turnover in the game. Trent Green was sacked (Larry Johnson missed the block) and fumbled the ball and it was returned for 59 yards. Then three plays later, the Cowboys scored. That was the only turnover of the game and was probably the deciding factor.

The Chiefs came back and were leading 28-24, when they let the Cowboys drive the ball down the field and on 4th and goal from the six yard line, committed a holding penalty (yes, it was holding) and gave the Cowboys a first and goal from the three. Two plays later they scored to lead 31-28.

Kansas City did not quit. They had one last chance and got within field goal range with two seconds left, but Tynes missed a (very makeable) 41 yarder.

Larry Johnson must learn to block better. Until he does this, he will not be a great running back.

Larry Johnson had 143 yards on 28 carries. Trent Green threw for 340 yards. Not bad, but that one turnover cost us big time, Larry.

The playoffs are still a possibility. Jacksonville and Pittsburgh are the wildcards right now. San Diego and Kansas City are still in the hunt.

Kansas City has nothing but a tough schedule ahead. They play the Giants in New York on Saturday, then the final two games are at home against San Diego and Cincinnati. “So you’re telling me there’s a chance?”
