Kansas City Chiefs 28 Washington Redskins 21

The Chiefs defense was again shredded this week. This time for 398 yards by the Redskins, but due to three turnovers by the Redskins, the Chiefs come away with a tough hard-fought victory. Mark Brunnell had 331 yards passing.
Kansas City’s offense was not too good. They had 274 yards total and only 96 yards rushing.
The brightest spot was Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen. Allen had 6 tackles, 3 sacks, and two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. It almost, but not quite, made me feel like Derrick Thomas was back on the field.
Next up, the Chiefs travel to Florida to play the Dolphins. Unfortunately, coming up is the toughest part of the season. The Chiefs play the next four of five games on the road. Hopefully the defense will start to gel and the offense will get their act together. The playoffs are still a chance and I feel the Chiefs are one of the top 15 teams in the NFL, but the next five weeks will tell a lot about their chances.
