Ahh Yes, what a great way to open the NFL Season with a butt whipping of the New York Jets. The Broncos, Raiders and the Chargers all lost, so the Chiefs are in first place. OK, I understand it is just the first week, but after last year, I’ll take it!
I was pleasantly surprised by our run defense (57 yards allowed) We held the Jets scoreless until there were 29 seconds left in the game. I am a little concerned about our pass defense (333 yards allowed). We also have some injuries that may hurt is next week.
I also tip my hat to Larry Johnson, who had 110 yards on only 9 carries.
We play at the Raiders (Sunday night) and then at the Broncos (Monday Night) and then host the Eagles. This first month will be a tough one, so if we’re 2-2 or better, I’ll take it.
I’ve always thought that, in the AFC, you must hold serve at home (eight wins) and then win at least two on the road to have good shot at making the playoffs.
Go Chiefs!!!

I remember a couple of 13-3 seasons and home field advantage and they lost it. I’ll never feel cocky….
If the Broncos don’t serious get their crap together, I wouldn’t worry about beating them. They absolutely stank yesterday. San Diego played well, but hesitantly, and Dallas just took advantage. They should be much better next week.>>All I know is that if I were a Chiefs fan … I’d be feeling awfully cocky right about now.
