Caught My Eye…

Congratulations!  Friday has finally arrived and for your reward I’ve prepared another edition of Caught My Eye!

If this is your first time visiting The Western Word, the “Caught My Eye” column is posted every Friday morning right here!  This is where I take a quick look at some of the stories I did not have time to write or comment about during the week – and I often throw in a touch of sarcasm just to keep it zesty.

BE ADVISED:  Everyone and everything is fair game…

Today I write about a difficult boss, political coordination, senate internships, ethics review, a Gallup poll, being polled, packing the beef, a privileged path, the birth to 12 video, the BCS, and I crack open my political inbox and share!

Politics 2012: “Like”

With campaign season in full swing, it is fun to see how the candidates, their supporters, and their opponents are using social media sites, like Facebook, to get their message out.

We see the normal “Women for XXXX” and “Veterans for XXXX” “Students for XXXX” plus there are Facebook pages for several local and state-wide candidates just waiting for you to “Like” them – so get out there and explore!

Listed below are a few sites that I found interesting:

Dogs Against Romney” states that they are about “Educating the public about Romney’s treatment of his pet.”  This site has 43,486 likes.  They proudly say they are a “Super Pack.”  They provide a link to a website that has the story about Romney’s “dog on the car roof” vacation story.  Continue reading
