Memorial Day 2005

Freedom is not Free

A very special thanks to all the veterans who have given their lives for my freedom. Your sacrifices and those of your family’s have not gone unnoticed. My flag will be proudly displayed to honor you.
On Memorial Day, I always remember my four fellow Security Policeman (now called Security Forces) who were killed in a helicopter crash on June 11, 1982, while providing airborne security for a nuclear weapons convoy at Whiteman AFB, Missouri: SSgt Richard Bolhing, Sgt David Jones, Sgt Thomas Meridith, Sgt Marion Pace. Three of these fine young men lived in my dorm at Whiteman AFB. I am proud to say I knew them.

Freedom is not Free
